Untamed - an event for women to reconnect with their sexual selves

Updated: Mar 4, 2023

Brides2Health&Rights is a proud supporter of the Untamed event, an event for women to reconnect with their sexual selves, which is being co-organised by one of our co-founders, Isotta Rossoni and a Malta-based entrepreneur, Cristina Balaceanu. The event will take place on March 11, 2023 between 2 and 6 pm at Tarricrii Restaurant, part of Topaz Hotel in Bugibba and will feature numerous speakers, including our other co-founder and sexual health expert, Valeska Padovese.

‘Untamed’ is an event for women and any person who identifies as a woman to re-assert their right to speak freely about sex, pleasure and sexual fantasies, to connect with themselves and with other like-minded beings and to celebrate the joys of being alive, including sexually active.

Close your eyes and think about the last sex scene you saw in a movie. How realistic was it? Did you think: ‘damn, this is exactly like the last (or first) time I had sex. This is exactly what sex is like. While you may have answered yes – depending on the movies you watch – the mainstream film industry has a bad habit of depicting sex in implausible and even far-fetched ways.

Sex scenes often feature women reaching orgasm in literally 2 minutes - generally through penetration – and dismiss foreplay are a ‘useless add-on’. Then there’s the ‘dark side’ of sex, the violence, the abuse… all things that regrettably do happen and worryingly often, but are also sensationalised and instrumentalised by the media.

Where does this leave us?

In a world where sex and sexuality are still very much taboo, where women’s pleasure is still not taken seriously (not even by women themselves) and speaking about sex without shame remains fairly rare, particularly within certain circles and age groups, it simply leaves us thirsty for something more, something different.

At a bare minimum, it leaves us craving to have those frank conversations as a means to truly reconnect with our sexual selves.

The event will consist of 4 parts:

1. Connect with yourself 2. Take care of yourself 3. Play with yourself (and others) 4. Pamper yourself

If you'd like to register for the event, you can do so here.
